The Trainers Edge is the first program of its kind that can be totally customized in order to have a minimal impact on a client's lifestyle. All training, nutrition and supplementation variables can be customized and saved to create templates for future workouts or to use with other clients.
The program is multimedia enhanced with over 30 minutes of video contained on the CD. There are over 100-video demonstration clips of proper exercise technique and fitness principles.
There are also 3 forms of help files included with the software to insure ease of use, these are:
1.) The standard Windows style help file.
2.) Adobe PDF file containing over 40 pages of screen shots of the program with a detailed index system.
3.) A Lotus Screen Cam video screen capture with narrated instructional demonstrations available on each screen of the program. Extraordinary Scheduling Flexibility allows clients to not feel as though they have been converted in to a laboratory animal. There is a Daily Activity scheduling screen that enables the client to choose the timing of up to 3 workouts to be scheduled each day automatically and to choose each type of workout. Emphasis is placed upon the integration of proper meal timing, proper nutrient ratio intake, glycemic levels of meals, correct supplementation and exercise programs rather then categorizing an individual solely by metabolic rate as in most diet software. The Trainers Edge enables client's meals to be planned for all forthcoming activities on an on going basis, for each typical day within a typical exemplary week.
The Program Objective 3-way Calculator within the software allows the user to estimate the client's objective using a target weight, target date or target bodyfat percentage. The calculator also presents the client with the number of calories that will be added or subtracted from the average daily caloric intake in order to obtain the client's goal.
There is a Client Information Wizard which can be utilized in conjunction with a minimal amount of simple forms, technicians and typical users are able to prepare custom printouts that closely match the typical weekly routine of the client in minutes rather the hours. Clients can choose the foods they enjoy eating for each meal category individually such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and meal replacement drinks or bars. There is a popular foods selection default if the clients food choice selections are unknown. There is a setting that will prevent foods being selected which the client is allergic. The intuitive multimedia interface means that minimal training of technicians will be required.
The program can be used in conjunction with any method of body composition measurement and calculation technique. There are screens to enter caliper or tape measurements that will automatically calculate the client's bodyfat percentage or if the bodyfat percentage is known can be entered directly.
Clients programs can utilize and be effective with virtually any brand of supplements.There are twenty different levels of automatic supplement recommendations with a level suitable for virtually any type of client. All supplement recommendations can be completely customized. The nutritional supplement database design can be completely customized and can be utilized for a particular brand of diet or sport nutrition supplements and can also include detailed information for medical administration of supplements.
Clients receive detailed report manuals based upon their personal time schedule for an entire typical week for meals, supplements, water, workouts, and a grocery list for all foods and supplements necessary for the entire week.
A special Recipe book is provided for each client in order to provide unique menus.
All meals are pre-calculated for a client's caloric requirement, macronutrient ratio and glycemic preferences and can be customized if necessary.
The staggered caloric intake feature varies the amount of calories on a daily basis to eliminate the likelihood of stalling the client's metabolism. All food quantities are by a default setting, rounded off in order to minimize the need for clients to measure food. By deselecting rounding, precise macronutrient ratios can be prepared for each meal. Default settings for the recommended macronutrient ratio and the recommended caloric intake are preset, however any custom nutrient ratio of protein to carbohydrate to fat may be specified as well as any caloric requirement may be specified for each client on an individual basis.
There are 3 levels of caloric estimation.
1.) The program establishes a caloric requirement based on the client's bodyfat percentage, gender, age, height and bodyweight.
2.) The program then divides the typical 24 hour daily regimen of the client in to 8 three hour segments and assesses an activity rating above or below the basal metabolic rate.
3.) The program automatically adds the calories required for any workouts. Additional calorie requirements can be added with the built-in calorie counter to any day of the week as necessary. For example if a client mows the yard for 36 minutes on Mondays each week, the program calculates the extra calories and adds them to Mondays caloric requirement and presents this data on screen for adjustment if necessary.
The Fitness Manual, which is part of the program, appears on screen as a book with index tabs and pages that flip. The Fitness Manual provides 80 pages of information to clients on topics such as:
1.) The importance of insulin management through the use of low glycemic foods and proper meal coordination.
2.) The importance of optimizing growth hormone releases each day.
3.) Emphasis is placed upon the use of fibrous carbohydrates and water for a natural method to stimulate the metabolism.
4.) Eating out tips.
5.) Recipes Large amounts of cardiovascular exercise are not necessary for fat loss.
Custom meals can be created and added to the database. All meals and food selections produced by the program for the client can be customized. The quantities of foods within the meals can also be modified. The supplements that are recommended before and after any type of fitness activity can be modified and all supplement dosage recommendations can be adjusted. Additional meals, exercises, foods and supplements may be added to the program database or modified. The program prepares 6-week workout plans automatically. These programs can be developed for weight training, walking, running, cycling, swimming, the treadmill, the stairmaster or for circuit training. An unlimited number of workouts can be custom created and scheduled for a client each day Specialty exercises can be added to database. Six-week custom workout templates can be created and saved. These workout templates can use for other clients. For example if a professional trainer has a special cross training workout for beginners that training template can be used for all beginners.
There is a Workout Training Recorder that is utilized to create strength charts comparing maximum performance in poundage or distance and maximum intensity. The recorder also captures the data necessary for the creation of future workouts that maintain progression in intensity. The program uses 2 methods of logic in the development of workout routines. When the program processes a workout for a client, the program first searches for previously recorded workout strength data, if data is available the program uses the data in formulating the new workout. If none exists, the program relies on the standard strength tables to create the initial workout for a client.
There are 9 custom reports created for each client which can be previewed on screen before printing and these are:
1.) The workout report - provides a log sheet for recording workout performance for each set. The report also includes previous best effort in maximum effort capability in lbs. or speed depending on the type of exercise and maximum intensity. The program will produce up to 12-week programs for each type of workout the client has scheduled. The 12-weeks of workouts can be printed together or separately.
1.) The Bodyfat Percentage report - which contains 2 tables for comparison of the client's bodyfat percentage to fitness averages.
2.) The Recommendations report - has a target heart rate calculation, macronutrient ratio recommendation and a general fitness related recommendation.
3.) The Time Schedule report - lists the daily fitness related activities and presents these in a 24-hour pie chart as well.
4.) The Mealplan report - presents a 1-week exemplary mealplan which includes the macronutrient ratio and a glycemic rating for each meal individually as well as the total daily caloric intake in calories, the total daily protein, carbohydrate, fat and fiber intake in grams, and the total daily intake of sodium and potassium in milligrams.
5.) The All Foods Report - produces a checklist containing all foods currently in the entire database. This report is automatically updated as new foods are added to the database.
6.) The Supplement report - presents a 1-week exemplary supplement plan that shows the time for supplementation and the recommended supplements and dosages for each day.
7.) The Grocery report - is a grocery list of all the foods necessary for the 1-week exemplary mealplan.
8.) The Supplement Grocery report - a list of all the supplements recommended to complete the 6-week workout plan. The report contains all necessary ordering information and enables the supplements to be ordered automatically on-line with a single click order button.
